Release SaaS - Limitations
Digital.ai Release SaaS provides access to most features available in the on-premises version, with specific limitations designed to optimize the cloud-hosted experience. This page provides comprehensive details on what is and is not available.
Feature Limitations
The following are the features and capabilities for Release SaaS:
Scripting & Development
Scripting Tasks
- Remote script task types are disabled for security reasons
- Custom script execution is not supported
CLI & SDKs
- ✅ XL CLI is available
- Python SDK and Go SDK are disabled
APIs
- ✅ REST API is available
- Jython API and DSL API are not available
Plugins & Integration Management
Plugin Management
- ✅ Pre-packaged plugins are installed and maintained by Digital.ai
- Custom plugin uploads not supported (can be made available through service engagement).
Release Runners
- ✅ Limited default runners provided by Digital.ai for container plugin tasks
- On-prem runners are not supported.

Container-based plugins require a Release Runner. One cloud-based runner is provided and managed by Digital.ai.

These permissions are managed through Digital.ai Platform. Assigning users to these groups automatically grants the corresponding permissions in Release.

- On-Premises Runner Support — Ability to connect your own Release Runners.
- Extended Plugin Catalog — Additional plugins can be made available on request.
