Configuring the Columns on the Roadmap Layout

This article explains how to configure the columns on the Roadmap Layout.

Overview

When using the Board layout, you can control the size and number of the columns displayed. Use the vertical ellipsis to access the configuration.

Steps

  1. Click the hamburger icon Hamburger icon > Portfolio> Roadmaps.
  2. If not already selected, choose a project from the Project Navigator.
  3. Click the Board layout.
  4. Click on the Configuration icon, and then select from any of the follow options:
OptionDescription
Group ByDisplays portfolio items in groups.
Color ByDisplays portfolio items by color type.
Interval StartThe anchor date for the roadmap. Enter the beginning date of the current period. You won't need to update the Start Date as time moves on. The roadmap is smart enough to understand when the current period starts based on the originally entered Start Date, so this is really a 'set it and forget it' entry.
Intervals per ColumnAllows you to have intervals of 1 Quarter or 10 Weeks. It is used in combination with the Column Interval to determine the length of each columnar period.
Interval (Columns)Choose between Weeks, Months, Quarters and Years. It is used in combination with Intervals per period to determine the length of each columnar period.
Previous IntervalsIt is often helpful to see what was scheduled for the last interval. Some groups want to understand more of the recent history. This allows you to keep some amount of history visible when using your roadmap by controlling the number of intervals to show before the current interval.
Future IntervalsEnables you to plan the number of intervals after the current interval.
