Customizing Display Names for Custom Fields and Columns

This article explains how to customize display name for Custom Fields and Columns in Agility.

Refer to the Localization article for more information on customizing display names.

Prior to Winter 2020, 19.3.9.40, and 19.2.15.71 Customizing Custom Field Names was file based. Refer to the file based customization article for more information.

Once a Custom Field is created, you can change the label, or translate the label to another language, from the Terminology page.

Custom Field Labels

To change, or translate, the Custom Field label seen on Create, Edit, or Detail pages:

1. Navigate to Terminology page.
2. Select the 'En' locale.
3. Scroll down to bring the Custom Fields grid into view.
4. Copy the appropriate System Names value(s).
   If you are changing the label used when no localization is provided (the default label), you can update the value here and skip steps 5-8
5. Select the target locale.
6. Scroll down to bring the Other Overrides grid into view.
7. Add the System Name values you copied in step 4.
8. Provide the localization in the Custom Fields grid.
9. Click Save.

Custom Field Grid Column Labels

To change, or translate, the Grid Column header used for Custom Fields:

1. Navigate to Terminology page.
2. Select the 'En' locale.
3. Scroll down to bring the Custom Columns grid into view.
4. Copy the appropriate System Names value(s).
   If you are changing the label used when no localization is provided (the default label), you can update the value here and skip steps 5-8
5. Select the target locale.
6. Scroll down to bring the Other Overrides grid into view.
7. Add the System Name values you copied in step 4.
8. Provide the localization in the Custom Columns grid.
9. Click Save.
