Migrating On-Premise to On-Demand

This article explains how to migrate the on-premise instance of Agility to On-demand.

Background​

Sometimes customers find it valuable to take their instance from On-Premise to On-Demand. One common scenario is when a customer wants to reduce internal IT support costs and leverage an On-Demand infrastructure.

The Migration​

Request a Hosted Environment​

Notify your Account Manager that you would like to migrate to an On-Demand instance of Digital.ai Agility. You will be provided with an Instance URL when it is created.

Practice Migrating with your Production Data​

  1. When you are ready, notify Digital.ai Agility Support, and you will be provided instructions for how to upload your Digital.ai Agility Database backup.
  2. Upon notification of the upload, it will be applied to the new On-Demand Instance.
  3. Log in to verify the migration completed successfully.

Final Migration​

  1. We will work with you to schedule the exact time window for your migration (usually Tuesday or Thursday evenings, Eastern Time), and will provide instructions for how to upload your Digital.ai Agility Database production backup.
  2. Schedule downtime for the migration with your users, and inform them of the new URL.
  3. Shutdown your existing On-Premise instance and take the final backup.
  4. Upload your backup and optionally your strings files and custom XSL files per instructions provided by V1 Support.
  5. You will receive an email when the new On-Demand instance is up and running.
  6. Log in to verify the migration completed successfully.
