Creating or Generating a New Defect from a Template

This article explains how to create or generate a new defect from a Template.

Overview​

There are two ways to generate a new defect from a template.

When you create a defect from a template, the item inherits all the details from the template, including title.

Option 1: From the Sidebar​

  1. Click on the +  icon in the header.
  2. Select the type of asset you want to add.
  3. Enter the asset details and click Save.

Option 2: From the Templates Grid​

  1. Click the hamburger menu Hamburger icon > Product > Templates.
  2. In the Defect Details section, select a template, and then click Generate Defect. When the defect details page opens, all of the defect information will be the same except for the defect ID.
  3. Edit the new defect as necessary. The new defect will display in the project's backlog.
