Track Progress of Related Assets
Once a request is related to one or more assets, you can use the request to track the progress of those items.
Who Tracks Progress of Related Assets
Product Owners monitor which feature requests have been implemented as stories or portfolio items, tracking completion status and delivery timelines to report progress to stakeholders.
Team Members check the status of work items generated from requests, verifying that enhancement ideas have been properly converted into actionable work and are progressing through the development cycle.
Scrum Masters review relationships between requests and generated work to ensure approved requests are being addressed, using request tracking to identify bottlenecks or delayed implementations.
Business Analysts maintain traceability between original requests and implemented features, documenting which requirements have been delivered and which are still in progress.
Permission Requirement
To track progress of related assets: Members need Read access to the project to view request relationships and the status of generated work items.
To access detailed work item information: Members need Read access to view assignment, scheduling, and progress details for related stories, portfolio items, defects, and issues.
Steps
- Click the hamburger menu
> Product > Requests.
- Click on a request name or ID to open the details view.
- Click on Show Relationships to see the related items.
- Use the grids to see assignment, scheduling and progress details for each related item.
Troubleshooting
Why don't I see any related items in the "Show Relationships" section?
Related items only appear after you generate assets from the request or manually assign existing items. If a request is new or hasn't been converted to work items yet, the relationships section will be empty.
Can I see the details of related work items without leaving the request?
The relationships grids show summary information (assignment, status, progress). To view full details, click on the work item ID or title to open its details page in a new view.
Why can't I see progress details for some related items?
Progress visibility depends on your project permissions. If you don't have Read access to certain projects or work item types, you may see limited information about related items. Contact your administrator to request appropriate access.
