Moving a Task or Test to a New Backlog Item or Defect

This article explains how to move a task or test to a new backlog item or defect.

You can move a task or test to another Backlog Item by selecting a new 'parent' for it.

Option 1: Edit Task Details

1. Select the task which you want to move and click Edit.
2. In the Task window, click the magnifying glass icon next to the parent backlog.
3. In the resulting Parent Backlog window, choose the required new backlog item and then click Select.
4. Click Save in the Task window.

The task has now been assigned to a new backlog item.

Option 2: Drag and Drop Tasks to a New Backlog Item

From the Detail Planning or Detail Tracking grids, you can also drag the task or test and drop it onto a different backlog item.
