SeeTestAutomation - Using The Reflection Buttons

After you have connected the device to be tested and have opened it, a number of control buttons will appear at the bottom of the reflection displayed on your computer screen.

1 - Home: Simulate clicking on the device's home button.

2 - Menu: Simulate clicking on the device's menu button (Android only).

3 - Back: Simulate clicking on the device's back button (Android Only).

4 - Toggle Orientation: Clicking this button will change the device's current orientation (from landscape to portrait or the other way around).

5 - SeeTestAutomation - Object Spy: Open the object spy and elements tree for the current screen.

6 - Always On Top: Keep the device's reflection window in the foreground of the PC screen.

7 - Scale/Scroll Mode: This feature allows you to set the resolution of the reflection to the same quality as the mobile device, without any scaling. Since the pixel density of the mobile device's screen is usually much higher than the PC's screen, using this feature will most likely act as a zoom in that will magnify the size of the reflection.

8 - Open log view: View log in console.

9 - SeeTestAutomation - Device Log: Save and open the device log.

10 - Device monitor Vitals: View and collect device CPU and memory usage.

11 - Unlock: Unlock the device

12- Network Condition: Set a network virtualization condition for the device

13 - Recent Apps: Show recent apps on the device.

14 - Close Keyboard: Close the virtual keyboard of the device.

Device Tab Features​

Description: Right-click on a device name in the Studio Device Tab to view these options:

  • Copy: This will copy the device's name to the clipboard.

  • Always On Top: This will keep the device's reflection window on the foreground of the PC screen.

  • Reboot Device: Reboot the device.

In high latency conditions when Home buttons work slowly for iOS devices, the following flag can be used in app.properties file:

ios.force.home.without.uiautomation=true
