Using Rooms 2
This article explains how to use the Rooms 2 feature of Agility.
Overview
Agile development is all about working together and being flexible, with a strong emphasis on the tasks at hand. These key aspects are not possible without the ability to assess the work, decide on solutions, and communicate across teams.
Agility introduces Rooms 2, equipped with features that enhance room capabilities and improve your team's performance. Rooms 2 is designed for teams collaborating in Agile environments. Rooms 2 makes it easy for teams to plan, track, and collaborate every day in one central and organized way.
How to enable Rooms 2
To enable Rooms 2, navigate to your Profile > Agility Preferences > Experimental Features then slide the toggle button next to Rooms 2.0 to the right.
Advantages of using Rooms 2
- Displays a visual summary of the team's status in the current sprint.
- Provides insights into stories that have not yet started.
- Enables teams to prioritize and focus on stories that require more resources.
- Includes an option to add new stories and defects to the team.
- Filters stories based on owner, team, and time-frame.
- Allows access to user stories and defects without leaving the Rooms 2 page.
- Facilitates the addition or editing of stories or defects directly from the Rooms 2 page.
Start Standup
The Standup tool in Rooms 2 helps teams to look at their previous day's tasks, outline goals for today, and address any expected challenges for tomorrow.
When you click the Start Standup button, Agility lists all the members who are part of TeamRoom. As a user you can select the team members who are present that day, shuffle their order, and click Begin to start the standup. Agility automatically filters the Storyboard for the team member who is providing an update.
Storyboard
Storyboards show all the stories (shown as story cards) in a sprint/iteration. Teams can use it to track the status of stories during the sprint until they are accepted by the product owner. Storyboards keep progress highly visible so teams can identify which stories are included in a sprint and what status each item is in.
Storyboard Cards
The storyboard cards display all the details of the stories that are a part of the sprint or iteration. The storyboard cards contains the following details about a story or defect:
- Title - Displays the story or defect title
- Story ID or Defect ID - Displays the story ID or defect ID
- Tasks - Displays the number of tasks associated with the story or defect.
- Tests - Displays the number of tests associated with the story or defect.
- Attachments - Displays the number of attachments associated with the story or defect.
- Link - Displays the number of links associated with the story or defect.
- Dependencies - Displays the upstream or downstream dependency for the story or defect.
- Owners - Displays the owners of the story or defect.
The quick action menu (vertical ellipsis) in the storyboard cards has the following options:
- View - Displays the story or defect details in a separate grid.
- Sign me up - Allows the user to sign up for the selected story or defect.
- Remove me - Allows the user to remove themselves from the story or defect.
- Quick Close - Closes the story or defect in a single action.
Details View
The story or defect details page allows you to view and update all the details pertaining to a story or defect. The details view contains two tabs:
- Details - displays all the details of the selected story or defect.
- Comments - displays the comments pertaining to the story or defect.
Accessing Details View
To access the details view , click on a story title or defect title in the storyboard cards.
