Using the Solution Board

This article explains how to use the Solution board in Agility.

Overview

The Solution Board, aka Value Stream Board, summarizes cross-organization capability level dependencies throughout your iterations or sprints so you can identify and focus on the cross-organization communications that matter most. You can use this board to verify your planning sessions and to track progress throughout delivery.

At a Glance

At a glance, you can:

• see which Release Trains are delivering work for a each capability (portfolio item) and when that capability will be delivered based on the Backlog Items planned into iterations.
• determine which portfolio items have not been planned.
• see which Release Trains are responsible for delivering the portfolio item.
• see upstream dependencies that cross Release Trains or organizational boundaries.

Accessing the Value Stream Board

1. Click the hamburger icon > Portfolio > Solution Board or Value Stream Board.
2. Select a project from the Project Navigator.
   Note: The selected project, and all child projects must share the same Schedule.
