This topic describes how Digital.ai Release sends email notifications for certain events in a release. The default events include task level events and release level events.

You can configure email notifications in Release by selecting the events that trigger notifications, choosing the recipients, and customizing the email templates. These settings are available only to users with the Admin global permission.

Notification task types are used to prepare emails and notify the recipients automatically when a task is active. It's an automated task that completes by itself or fails when the email cannot be sent. Release advances to the following task when the notification task is completed.

In Release, you can configure an SMTP server to send notifications to users via email. This can be for events that occur during the execution of the release.
