Using formatting mode for visualizations

You can edit a visualization in Formatting Mode to quickly select formatting options for a specific part of the visualization, such as the titles, row axes, or legend. When you select a visualization object in formatting mode, the appropriate format options appear in the Format panel. When you view a visualization in formatting mode, other visualizations in the dossier are grayed out and unavailable, allowing you to concentrate on one visualization at a time.

To format a visualization in formatting mode

  1. Click on the visualization you want to format. If necessary, you can select a specific object in the visualization for formatting.
  2. Right-click and choose Format.
If you selected a specific object in the visualization, a pop-up menu displays the appropriate formatting options for that object. In addition, the Format panel automatically updates the first drop-down list with the area of the visualization you are formatting and the corresponding format options appear.
  3. Select the appropriate options to format the visualization.
  4. You can select different options from the first drop-down list, on the Format panel, to format the corresponding areas of the visualization.
