Adding, replacing, or removing data from a visualization

Once you have created and added a visualization to a dossier, you can add, replace, or remove data from the visualization. If you have added more than one dataset to your dossier, a visualization can include data from multiple datasets at the same time.

If you are including data from more than one dataset on a visualization, you must link the attributes that are shared in common across datasets. See How to Link Shared Data Across Multiple Datasets for more information.

To add, replace, or remove data in a visualization, perform these steps:

  1. Open an existing dossier.
  2. Select the visualization you want to modify.
  3. To add data to the visualization, drag attributes or metrics from the Datasets panel to the appropriate area of the visualization's Editor panel. Press and hold the Ctrl key to select multiple attributes and metrics. A blue indicator line appears in the location where you can add the attribute or metric.
  4. To remove data from the visualization, right-click the object to remove in the Editor panel and choose Remove.
  5. To remove all data from a visualization, click Remove Data .
  6. To replace an attribute or metric in the visualization, right-click the object in the Editor panel and choose Replace With. Next, select the item to replace the object.
