User Input Task

A User Input task is a manual task that you can use to provide values for release variables. These values can then be used in other tasks in the release. The values entered on a task are propagated to release variables as soon as the task is created, not when it is completed. The skip option is always disabled.

You must have the Task edit permission on a release to add variables to a task.

For detailed information about the contents of the task, see Task Drawer for Tasks.

In the Overview tab of the User Input task, you can:

  • Add tags to your User Input task in the Task Tags field for filtering.
  • Click Edit variable list. The Variables in this task drop-down list is enabled.

To add variables to a User Input task, you can select the variables that have been defined on the release from the drop-down list and click Save. Note that, when you set the values of the variables, they are not saved until you click the Save button in the User Input task. You can reorder the list by dragging and dropping the selected variables.

In the release flow editor, User Input tasks are marked by a gray border.
