Creating a threshold on a hierarchical attribute

You can create a threshold on a hierarchical attribute in the Advanced Thresholds Editor.

Your dossier must contain a grid visualization. You can only use the Advanced Thresholds Editor for grid visualizations. You have placed a metric in the Metrics area or an attribute in the Rows or Columns area.

  1. In the Editor panel, right-click a hierarchical attribute and choose Thresholds. The Quick Thresholds Editor opens.
  2. Click New Threshold. The New Condition dialog opens.
  3. In the Based On list, select the hierarchical attribute to base the threshold on.
  4. Expand the corresponding hierarchies in the right pane to locate the hierarchical elements to base the threshold on.
  5. Select the hierarchical elements. See How to Create a Hierarchical Attribute Filter for a Chapter for more information about navigating and selecting hierarchical elements.
  6. Click OK. The Advanced Thresholds Editor opens.
  7. Click More to the right of the threshold condition and choose Formatting.
  8. Select formatting options for displaying the threshold.
  9. Click OK .
  10. Click OK
