Creating a Network visualization

You can create a network visualization in a dossier.

  1. Open a new or existing dossier.

  2. Click Insert Visualization to add a new, blank visualization to the dossier.

  3. In the Visualization Gallery, click Network.

  4. Drag objects from the Datasets panel to the Editor panel to add the corresponding data to the visualization. You can also drag objects from the Datasets panel directly onto the visualization.

Tip: Edges are drawn from attribute elements in the From Item area to related attribute elements in the To Item area. Attribute elements are related to each other if appear they in the same row of data when you change the visualization to a grid.

  5. Place an attribute in the From Item area. Each element of this attribute appears as a node in the visualization.

  6. Place an attribute in the To Item area. Each element of this attribute appears as a node in the visualization.

  7. Place a metric in the Edge Color area. Each edge in the visualization is automatically colored based on the value of this metric.

  8. Place a metric in the Edge Size area. This metric determines the thickness of each edge. Edges with large metric values appear thicker in size. Edges with small metric values appear thinner in size.

  9. Place a metric in the Item Size area. This metric determines the size of each node. Nodes for large metric vales appear larger in size. Nodes for small metric values appear smaller in size.

  10. Select which attribute forms appear in the visualization.

  11. Click Save.
