Assigning a Strategic Theme to a Portfolio Item

This topic explains how to assign a Strategic Theme to a Portfolio Item.

Overview​

This article explains two methods for assigning a strategic theme to a portfolio item so you can choose the one that works best for you.

Option 1. In the Portfolio Tree Grid​

  1. Click the hamburger icon Hamburger icon Portfolio > Strategic Themes.
  2. If not already visible, add the Strategic Themes column to the grid. See Adding Columns to a Grid for instructions.
  3. Double-click on the Strategic Themes column heading to make it editable.
  4. Select or search for the strategic themes you want to assign, and then click Save.

Option 2. On the Portfolio Item Details page​

Open the details page of a portfolio item, and then select one or more strategic themes in the Strategic Themes field.

The Strategic Themes presented in the list are those that exist in the portfolio item's project or parent projects. It is possible to assign a strategic theme outside of that segment of the project tree by using the search capability. Just start typing the title of the strategic theme in the selection box to see matches from throughout the system.
