Specify the User Authentication Method

Digital.ai App Management supports two methods of user authentication:

  • Digital.ai App Management Authentication: This authentication method is built into Digital.ai App Management, and it is the default method configured for an organization. With Digital.ai App Management Authentication, users must log in with the user IDs and passwords configured in Digital.ai App Management. User IDs can be added to Digital.ai App Management through the Admin Portal or added using the Digital.ai App Management Users API.

  • Single Sign-On (SSO): SSO lets you leverage industry standards and your existing enterprise infrastructure to authenticate and authorize Digital.ai App Management users. Digital.ai App Management supports SSO through either SAML or OAuth protocol. For more information, see Single Sign-On. If you want to use SSO with Digital.ai App Management, contact Customer Support.

The Settings > Authentication page identifies the authentication method that is configured for your organization.

Biometric Authentication on iOS Devices​

Biometric authentication is the act of using unique biological characteristics to identify individual users. For example, Touch ID or Face ID on iOS devices.

If your organization uses Digital.ai App Management Authentication, you can optionally enable Biometric Authentication for iOS devices. When this option is enabled, any user who has Touch ID or Face ID configured on their device is prompted to authenticate with either when logging in to the iOS App Catalog or any iOS apps that use policies that require authentication (for example, Enterprise SSO or Self Updating App). Users are prompted to log in with username (user ID) and password the first time they authenticate, but biometric authentication is available on subsequent logins and users can choose whether or not to use it.

To enable Biometric Authentication for Digital.ai App Management Authentication​

  1. On the Admin Portal navigation bar, click Settings.
  2. Click Authentication.
  3. Select Enable Biometric Authentication if it is not already.
  4. Click Save.
