Knowledge Base Agent
The Knowledge Base Agent answers "how-to" questions about working with Digital.ai Release and its integrations. It calls the AI Assistant agent configured in MavenAGI, which draws on the product documentation. Instead of searching the documentation, you ask a question in natural language and get an explanation. Use it to learn how a Release feature works or how to complete a configuration. For how agents work in general, see AI Assistant Agents.
The Knowledge Base Agent is available on Digital.ai Release SaaS instances only.
What You Can Ask About
The Knowledge Base Agent answers questions about how to use Release, such as:
- How Release features and concepts work.
- How to configure Release and its integrations.
- How to set up approvals, gates, and templates.
Start a Knowledge Base Conversation
- Open AI Assistant and start a new chat.
- Select the Knowledge Base agent.
- Type a how-to question, or click one of the prompt starters.

The conversation stays with the Knowledge Base Agent for its life. See Domain is locked per conversation.
Questions Routed from Other Agents
The Generic Agent and the Reporting Agent recognize how-to questions and point you to the Knowledge Base Agent, because they query your Release data rather than explaining the product. To move a question to this agent, start a new chat as described in Switch to a different agent.
Third-Party Service and Data Handling
The Knowledge Base Agent retrieves answers from the AI Assistant agent, configured in MavenAGI, a third-party knowledge service that Digital.ai also uses in its Support Portal. Responses are AI-generated, so verify any critical detail against the product documentation.
The AI Assistant agent retrieves only the product documentation, not Zendesk support tickets. No customer data or AI Assistant data is sent to MavenAGI. Your releases, tasks, configurations, and the questions you type are not shared with the service.
The agent requires outbound connectivity from your Release instance to the MavenAGI API. On SaaS, Digital.ai provides and manages this connectivity as part of the service.
The Knowledge Base Agent respects Release permissions (RBAC). See Permission scoping.
Known Limitations
- The agent is available on SaaS instances only.
- The agent explains how to use Release. It does not query your Release data, so it cannot answer questions about your own releases, tasks, or configurations.
- Answers are drawn from the product documentation, not from support tickets. Content for a very recent feature may not be available yet.
