Upgrade and Migration

When a new version of Digital.ai Release is available, you can upgrade your Kubernetes-based installation using the xl kube upgrade command. The upgrade wizard walks you through the configuration options for both Release and Release Runner, including custom resource updates and database migrations.

Before upgrading, back up your Release instance to protect against data loss. If you are upgrading across major versions, review the migration steps for custom resource keys and PostgreSQL schema changes. Patch version upgrades follow a simpler process and can often be applied without downtime.
