Administer an Affiliated Organization

If there are any organizations affiliated with your organization, then you—as an administrator of the "parent" organization—have full administrator privileges to manage those affiliated organizations through the Admin Portal. Digital.ai App Management provides a menu for switching your administrator view between your organization and any of your affiliated organizations.

An affiliated organization can also be managed by its own administrators (users with the "Administrator" role created under the affiliated organization). For an overview of affiliated organizations, see Manage Affiliated Organizations.

caution

When managing affiliated organizations in the Admin Portal, users should avoid sharing an administrator account. If one user switches to an affiliated organization, it will switch the selected organization for all the users logged in with that same administrator account.

If you interface with the Digital.ai App Management API for scripting or automation purposes (including through the Digital.ai App Management Plugin for Jenkins), you should create a separate administrator user account that will be used only with API requests.

Before You Begin

Add the affiliated organization, if you or another administrator has not already done so. For instructions, see Add an Affiliated Organization.

To manage an affiliated organization
  1. If there are any organizations affiliated with your organization, then you will see a drop-down Organization list in the top-right corner of the Admin Portal window. From the Organization list, select the affiliated organization you want to manage. This switches to a view of the affiliated organization. The Organization list remains visible. At any time, you can switch back to the parent organization or select a different affiliated organization.

  2. Use options in the left navigation bar to manage the affiliated organization. Any changes that you make will be visible to administrators of the affiliated organization and other administrators of your organization (the parent organization).
