Search OKRs

Search for Objectives and Key Results using IDs to quickly locate specific work items and understand their relationships.

Who Searches OKRs​

Search capabilities support navigation across large OKR hierarchies:

  • Product Owners search for objectives by ID or title to quickly access product goals and review key result progress during planning.
  • Team Members search for key results to find work they own or contribute to and update progress without navigating complex hierarchies.
  • Portfolio Managers search for portfolio-level objectives to review strategic goal status and identify alignment gaps across programs.
  • Program Managers search for objectives across value streams to understand dependencies and coordinate delivery efforts.

Permission Requirement​

To search OKRs: All users with Agility Pro or Premium license can search objectives and key results. Search results respect visibility settings.

To view search results: Users only see objectives and key results they have permission to view based on visibility settings (Private, Publicly Readable, Publicly Editable).

To access OKRs from search results: Clicking a search result opens the objective or key result if you have view access.

Search Locations​

Main Search Bar

From the OKRs main page, search for a specific Objective by typing the Objective ID directly into the main search bar.

Parent Child Dependency Tab

For granular searches within Objective and Key Result hierarchies, navigate to the Parent Child Dependency tab of an Objective. Search by Objective ID or Key Result ID to find specific KRs and understand how they connect to parent objectives.

Troubleshooting​

Why can't I find an objective I know exists?

You can only find objectives you have permission to view. Private objectives owned by others do not appear in search results. Also verify the objective is not in an archived session.

Does search work with partial IDs or titles?

Yes. The main search bar supports partial matches for both objective IDs and titles. Type a few characters to see matching results.

Can I search by owner or other fields?

The basic search focuses on ID and title. For more advanced filtering by owner, session, or progress status, use the filter panel and saved views. See Configure and Save Views for details.

Why does search in the Dependency tab show different results than the main search?

The Dependency tab search is contextual, showing only objectives and key results related to the current objective. The main search shows all objectives you have access to across all sessions.
